In this workshop, Barbara will cover how to stay connected with your child even while setting limits. We will define developmental themes, what developmentally driven behaviors are and what underlying needs are being expressed.

Ages 3-5: Setting Limits & Keeping Your CoolIn this two part series, we will look at what behaviors are developmentally driven and what the needs are underlying these behaviors. We will explore ways of setting limits while staying connected with your child.Parenting is one of the most triggering experiences you can have. We will define triggered reactions and ways of handling them.

Barbara Olinger has her Masters in Social Work and has worked with children and families in both educational and therapeutic settings for over 40 years. This has included being a Child and Family Therapist, a co-founder of a co-operative preschool, and Director of Family Development at the YWCA Santa Monica / Westside. In her current private practice, Barbara focuses on parent education and support for parents of children ages 1-14 years old and teacher training (pre-school - 8th grade). Barbara has two sons, 34 and 30 years old.
