TIPS FOR A GREAT PARTY!


Planning a party for your little LoveBug? Look no further for some awesome tried and true tips!

1. If your LoveBug is still napping, have your party take place either in the morning (before naptime) or in the afternoon to avoid naptime conflict

2. For your own sanity, give your party a start and end time - most younger children can handle about 2 hours

3. Plan your entertainment start time for 45 minutes after your party start time. This will allow for late comers and will enable your guests to a grab a bite (appetizers / snacks / drinks) and say hello before your entertainment begins.

4. Speaking of food, if you want to serve a small meal, keep the party food offerings for the kids simple. Familiar snacks like pizza or sandwiches work well and can be turned into special party food by using cookie cutters to make star-shaped sandwiches or heart-shaped pizza.

5. If this is a first birthday, set up a baby play area on the floor with blankets and lots of cushions. Plan to have separate toys for each baby so they can play alongside each other. Stock it with an assortment of stuffed toys, easy-to-grasp balls, rattles, soft building blocks, toys that open and close, and toys that fill-and-spill. (Make sure the toys are removed when it's music time).

6. If your event is outside, plan for all sorts of weather. Do you have a rain plan? Make sure to notify your guests (and your LoveBug & Me Magical Music Educator) if you have to make a location change. Chances are in Southern California, it will by sunny, so please make sure the music circle area is shaded.

7. Also, if your party is outdoors, plan for blankets or seating for your guests for the music circle. We can provide 2 blankets, if needed, with prior notice. Keep in mind that we will need to take them with us when we finish, so it's preferable that you have your own blankets so that your guests don't have to move when we leave.

8. Do you want to bump up the excitement factor for your party? LoveBug & Me offers special themes to tie the entertainment in to your party theme. We can bring fairy wings and super hero capes, for example, and cater our songs to make it extra special. And have you seen our JUMBO DRUM? It's 40" across and can accomodate lots of lovebugs. Order in advance (not available for every party). Don't want to think about party favors? LoveBug & Me can provide CDs, jumbo shakers, T-shirts as party favors, if you order in advance.

9. If you enjoyed the entertainment from your Magical Music Educators, it is perfectly acceptable to give them a gratuity as a thank you.

10. Get involved and encourage your adult guests (even Grandma) to participate in the music circle! Relax, enjoy and have fun! If you're having a great time, your guests will as well! (Adults are required to participate with their child, as the little lovebugs cannot be left alone during the music circle).
